Background

Andy McKinnell, BSc FFA

Andy is an experienced pensions professional with strong investment and actuarial knowledge. Over a career of more than 30 years he has worked with pension trustees and sponsors on a wide range of investment, actuarial and governance issues.

His clients have included both large and small DB and DC pension funds (assets up to £7bn), with a wide range of corporate sponsors covering industries such as finance, utilities, local government, transport, oil & gas, education, ports, publishing, construction and manufacture.

His skills and experience will offer valuable insight to any board on which he serves, and he combines these with an ability to build strong relationships with other trustees and work in partnership with scheme sponsors.

Until 2017 Andy was a partner with a major investment consulting firm, and previously he has held Scheme Actuary appointments, has supported trustee boards as scheme secretary, and has advised corporate sponsors whilst working for a "big four" accounting firm.
